Exchanging massages is a great way to bond as a couple. Here a few tips for a relaxing couples massage.
-With your partner lying on their stomach, warm your hands by rubbing them together. Place one hand on the upper back, one on the lower back of your partner, Leave your hands there for a long moment; this starts your spouse on the path to total relaxation.
– Lubricate your hands with massage oil and rub your palms together to warm up the oil a bit. Slowly rub your hands up and down your partner’s back. But don’t stop there, feel free to massage their buttocks as well.
-Continue down to the legs with long, slow strokes. Don’t forget the feet! Spend time gently rubbing their soles, starting with the heels and moving downward and outward to the balls of the feet. Gently tug on the toes.
-Move up to the arms. Use some palm circling on their upper arm and forearm muscles; then use your thumbs to massage the heels of your spouse’s hands. Gently rub the webbing between each finger to release stress.
Some people prefer to massage the back and arms before moving to the legs. Whatever sequence you prefer is fine.
-Ask your spouse to flip over, and standing behind their head, massage their shoulder muscles with a kneading motion. Once you feel them loosen up, go ahead and give your spouse a head massage to wrap up.
-Bring your spouse a glass of water and let them unwind for a few minutes. But don’t let them get too comfortable. It’s your turn now!
